How masturbation can cause phimosis

1. Stop masturbating.  You need to not masturbate for at least a month - maybe up to a year to allow your body to repair the penis.  Your recovery time will depend on how much you follow my advice and other tips I give (see other sections of blog) and also how many other bad habits you have as your body cannot repair everything at once and must prioritise. If you must do it, leave days in between masturbation and do not masturbate for a long time (i.e do not edge for hours). 
2. Lose weight.  Losing weight can be done by counting calories religiously and limiting calories to 2000 per day. Exercise plays less of a part contrary to conventional wisdom.  It will take 40 minutes of jogging just to burn off a mars bar. Important: Do not exercise too much.  At most 2 days a week.  This is so energy goes into repair of penis rather than damage to body done by exercise. If you exercise more than this your penis repair will take a lot longer.
3. Good nutrition and sunlight
4. Be naked during sleep to allow erections to be unrestricted. An alternative is loose pajama bottoms. Nearly as good.

Masturbating can be damaging to the penis if you apply too much pressure. It damages the spongy tissue chambers of the penis. Consequently the 3 spongy chambers do not fill out with blood and expand the skin. Normal healthy penises will get spontaneous erections, especially during sleep, at night, and in the morning. If you damage the structure of the penis, this does not happen. Spontaneous erections help with the stretching of the foreskin.
The collapsed inside structure of the penis, as well as the lack of strong, hard and long-lasting spontaneous erections leads to a tight foreskin because on erection there is no strong pressure pushing out against the foreskin.  P.S. A sensitive glans (head) is a sign of damage. This may be caused by excessive pressure from masturbation damaging the nerves (see dorsal nerve in image above). Many people complain of sensitive head on the network54 forum and reddit.  The common solution to simply expose the head is likely incorrect advice and wont help.

So what you need to do is allow repair of the 3 spongy chambers to happen. Don't masturbate as much. I would aim to go as long as possible without masturbating. At the least once every 7 days.  Take cold showers to reduce the hotness and horniness. See other section of blog on this for tips.
When you do masturbate, don't do it for a long time. Your body will repair what needs to be repaired. It can't repair if it is in use.

Another thing. Too much masturbation (especially with the wrong technique) can cause micro-tears in the skin, which form scar tissue; scar tissue is less elastic than unscarred tissue.

So, when you masturbate, make sure you are not applying too much pressure or using a damaging technique. Don't push down on it through clothes, or hump the bed with your body weight on the penis etc.  Just lightly grip the penis and move the foreskin up and down. The penis was not meant to have large pressure applied in a death grip. The vaginal walls are soft and the action of intercourse is merely to move the foreskin up and down.

Once the inside structure starts to repair, the 3 spongy chambers of the penis will inflate to their proper position. This in itself will expand the foreskin over time even without erections.  With frequent spontaneous erections during sleep obviously there will be more pressure pushing out against the foreskin.

You should be getting spontaneous erections. This is a sign your penis is repaired.  Ideally you should aim for prolonged strong erections.  The main time this happens is during sleep.  You get 5 long lasting erections during sleep each lasting around 25-30mins. See NHS source. Hard Morning wood is a sign all is well.   These prolonged strong erections will maximise the expansion and stretching of the foreskin.  Without this regular sleepytime workout, Dr. KΓΆhler says, the muscles may become too contracted, and eventually, the length of your erect penis may shorten.

You should also be as thin as possible.  This will increase the strength of erections so stretching action is greater.  Do not exercise.  This will mean energy going into repair of damage done by exercise rather than repairing penis.  It takes 15 minutes of constant running to burn off energy in mars bar.  So exercise is a bad way to lose weight.  Just restrict calories or skip a meal - but obviously still get proper nutrition.  Proper nutrition is the 3 macronutrients - protein, fat and carbohydrates.  Add in salads, greens nuts and seeds for complete vitamins and minerals - a smoothie maker such as a nutribullet is handy for this. See other sections of this blog on that.

Because the sponginess of the chambers is restored, there will also be extra 'give' when trying to pull the foreskin down. To understand what I mean by this, imagine pulling a jumper sleeve with a small hole over a long balloon. The balloon doesn't fit through the hole at first, but if you pull hard, the balloon comes through the hole because the balloon compresses and gets narrower. By restoring the sponginess of the penis you make it easier to pull the foreskin down. See diagram to left.

In time, if you follow this advice, it will then be easier to retract the foreskin over the head.

As a test for how much the spongy chambers have repaired, you should be able to move your erect penis up and down without touching it just by contracting your kegal muscles.

If you have damaged the spongy chambers then it will take about a week-2 weeks for good repair progress of the penis.  Once the penis is repaired, it will take a few more weeks for your foreskin to become looser.  If you follow my advice exactly - exercise, nutrition (see below), I would take a conservative guess than it would take 1-3 months at the quickest.  If you want to add in the conventional advice of stretching - ok - but the natural stretching that a strong erection gives in my opinion is best. The downside of conventional stretching (such as through phimocure rings) is that it can leave scar tissue which will make it even harder to rid yourself of phimosis.  So try my advice first.  Or just do gentle stretching as well as my advice. 





Other reason: position/angle of the glans in damaged penis compared to undamaged penis as illustrated by these 2 pics of the penis from a side view:



Notice the kink where part of the corpus spongiosum is damaged.  This is the reason for the bunching that occurs in a lot of phimosis cases caused by damage to the penis through masturbation.  This affects the angle of the glans.  In normal penises the glans is tilted backwards more as in the left drawing.  The other affect of this is that the point where the frenulum is attached is higher up (red dot) - consequently you dont need to pull down as much skin to retract it behind the glans. Below is an example of a near perfect healthy penis with no damage.  You can clearly see the corpus spongiosum, the underside of the 3 spongy chambers of the penis .  It is also a good example of how in an undamaged erect penis the glans/head of the penis is tilted back allowing the foreskin to be retracted more easily. If the corpus spongisoum is damaged as in the above small penis the head of the penis forms more of a barrier when pulling the skin down. This male below 18, is fit and healthy and with a penis that has likely never been damaged for too long from excessive masturbation.  He is also quite thin (calls himself that skinny guy with a surprise between his legs).  The end result is that sleep erection time and blood flow has been maximised and he has ended up with an enormous penis:

Another example of an "ideal" penis - from this perspective you can see the shaft is wider than the glans vertical/height wise, and so the foreskin can move up and down easily. Conrast that to an excessive masturbator whos shaft is narrower than the glans (head) of penis. Again the male is very thin leading to a very large penis as a result of sleep erections (which last 2-3 hrs) stretching it out with greater blood flow from less fat clogging arteries:

If you imagine where your hand is placed and the movements and pressure you put on your penis while masturbating (and some do it for hours every day for years) it is then easy to imagine how the shaft of the penis can be damaged.  You tend to put your thumb just behind the glans on the topside (dorsal) of penis

Nutrition for tight foreskin (plus get sunlight)

In order for your body to function at maximum capacity it must have the right nutrients.  many people's bodies are functioning at half-power due to lack of all essential vitamins and minerals the body needs.

Good foods to eat:

I would say omega 3 fatty acids are good for growth.  It is certainly something most people are deficient in.  So, Fish.  You can get sardines and mackeral in cans quite cheaply.  They are usually in tomato sauce or sunflower oil.  Red salmon cans too. Flaxseed is a good snackfood.

Avocado also contains essential fatty acids.  They are a very good superfood.  I instantly feel a positive effect after eating an avocado.
Soups are another quick tasty way to get nutrients.

Smoothies.  I personally use a machine called the nutribullet.  It is very good and simple to use.  Look on amazon.  A typical smoothie would be: half kale or spinach leaves. a banana, handful of blueberries, some flaxseed, then fill with water or coconut milk.  Maybe add some raw beetroot too (which you can get in the fruit and veg section at big supermarkets -such as sainsburys or tesco in uk).  Beetroot is good for improving blood flow.  Watermelon is also good for improving blood flow.  Ginkgo biloba tablets are also good for bloodflow.  

Make sure you drink enough water.  your pee should never be yellow.  If it is you know your body needs more.

Also make sure you expose as much skin to sunlight from April to September.  Your body produces vitamin D through your skin being exposed to sunlight.  But this can only occur during summer months as in winter months the sunlight isnt as strong.

To prevent nightime ejaculation

For some a closed hole means night time ejaculation can  be painful as there is nowhere for the cum to go and it ends of bursting something when your penis muscles contract to get the cum out.  This happened to to me.  It will then take time for the penis to repair whatever was broken - which you dont want. . I found a way to prevent it though.

1)Have a cold shower before bedtime.  It must be cold as your body gets steadily warmer and so you must disperse this heat.  This will cool the hotness and the horniness.
2)Do not think sexy thoughts before bed.
3)If you wake up in the middle of the night, don't go back to sleep.  So for instance, if you go to bed at say 10pm and wake up at 4am, do not go back to sleep.  From my own experience, I noticed you usually ejaculate on these "second sleeps" rather than the deeper first sleeps.  I'd advise to read a book, watch tv or listen to music.  Avoid earphones as they can damage your hearing and cause tinnitus (a constant ringing).

1.Stay lean, thin and muscular with exercise such as running and weights.
2.Eat well.

Male Bullying and masturbation. Why you may find it hard to stop masturbating

I believe most forever alone men/men who suffer from depression and anxiety, have been bullied from other males some time in their past. I believe that is the main (maybe only) root causes of anxiety/depression. This hostility from males (particularly groups of males) causes anxiety (the fight or flight response). You will always have anxiety as the guys are still alive so in your mind they can always come back at any moment if they know your location.

To cope with this unpleasant feeling of anxiety, guys will spend their whole lives using coping mechanisms. The main ones are masturbation/porn, comfort eating and alcohol. There is also drugs, smoking and gambling. These things divert their thoughts from the male bullies so you do not get the unpleasant anxiety response. Masturbation/porn is the most insidious/pernicious of the coping mechanisms as (unlike the other coping mechanisms) society has concluded it is harmless because of the following illogical reasoning: "religion says it is bad, i dont believe in religion, therefore it isnt bad". They are not realising that there may be other reasons why it is bad such as it physically damages the penis and the nervous system.

The best way to relieve yourself of anxiety is to make amends with males in your past you are afraid of. Many men do not want to admit that other males have caused their suffering as it automatically makes them feel inferior. But that is the case. Either get an apology from them or let them know you are not happy with stand up to them physically/have it out with them. That way you will not be scared of them any more and so can move on.

But you really need initially to face up to the anxiety response that will result if you cut out coping mechanisms. Replace the masturbating/porn with other healthy activities such as sunbathing (vitamin D is important for bodily function), exercise and healthy eating. Daily masturbation is particularly damaging as your body/brain/nervous system is constantly damaged and in repair mode and so you will always feel unwell. You really need to stop masturbating as that is linked to the nervous system and brain and therefore your mood. It also is damaging to the penis. Consequently your body goes into repair mode and so your body represses your feel good chemicals so that you dont feel like sexual activity. It also means energy goes into repairing the penis rather than fixing other parts of the body and developing other male characteristics (so you end up being less attractive).

Once your body is repaired you feel much more up to tackling the male bullies of your past. And once you have squashed your beef you will no longer feel in a state of anxiety/looking over your shoulder type mood and can look to the future.

A lot of the time the reason you self sabotage is because you want to appease the bullies. You dont want to get better because if you get better you fear this will get the attention of the bullies and they will come to knock you back down again. You reason that if you are on the floor they will stay away as you are down and out.

Example case study of how male on male bullying causes trauma or in other words persistent ongoing anxiety.  As I explained this is because the bullies are still alive so you fear they could come back at any moment. Tips to stop masturbating/looking at porn

A lot of guys who masturbate enough to cause phimosis will find it hard to stop as they are using it as a coping mechanism for anxiety.

The anxiety is mainly caused by thoughts of other males who have bullied you or who are bullying you. The key is to always stand up for yourself; either get an apology or stand up to the bully physically. Or you could get an authority figure. It is not weak to tell a teacher, a parent or a boss. Usually it is a group of guys vs you, so think of it as levelling the sides. Bullies are cowards as they rarely bully one on one. So if you are finding it hard to stop masturbating, ask yourself if other guys are making your life a misery and sort it out. Because without the distraction of masturbation and pornography your mind will immediately go to thinking of the bullies and the threat they pose which causes an unpleasant feeling of anxiety.

If you sort out the reason you are using the coping mechanism of masturbation and pornography, it will be a lot easier to stop. Here are some other tips though:

1.  Take Cold Showers.  You don't need to be continually in the cold water stream. Just step in and out of it. Cold showers really do get rid of the hotness and horniness feeling you sometimes get.  Take one in the morning, one before bed, and one after exercise.
Taking one before bed is probably the most important one. Alternatively - place your cock and balls in the sink and splash cold water over them. Or stand in the shower and get  the removable shower head and just spray up towards your ass and balls.

2. Learn your triggers.  Memorise your triggers when you relapse.  What were you doing right before you masturbated/looked at porn?  Make a mental note and make sure you memorise what you were doing right before.  Do you tend to do it at a particular time?

Once you do that it is a lot easier to stop masturbating/looking at porn and you feel a lot more in control because you can just avoid the triggers and not think about masturbating/porn.

3.  If you do it at a particular time, make sure you plan something different at that time.
Get away from the computer. Have a schedule/routine.  Have something in mind to do.  A new hobby perhaps?

Stretching isn’t sufficient. If this was all that it takes to cure phimosis then why isnt every person curing it easily?  You hardly ever hear of success stories with just stretching.  That is because most phimosis is caused by damage to the penis and most people masturbate every day so the penis has no time to repair.  If you dont allow repair to happen by not masturbating for at least 5 days you will never cure phimosis.

HOW I THINK I GOT PHIMOSIS - DID BAD MASTURBATION HABITS CAUSED AND WORSENED MY PHIMOSIS?

I didn't consult a doctor about this, so this is only my opinion, but I'm sure this is what happened. I didn't use to have phimosis; I acquired it through the years. I think I got it from masturbating vigorously (applying too much force and pressure with my hand). I would always end up with a swollen foreskin, and sometimes little cuts on it. This caused the skin to form scar tissue, which doesn't stretch as much as normal skin, so my guess is that all that scarring made my skin tighter.

There is something called "Traumatic Masturbation Syndrome", which is when you masturbate vigorously or do prone masturbation. This causes the penis to become desensitized, and can cause erectile dysfunction in the long run. So I think this is what happened to me, I applied too much pressure, become desensitized and needed even more to make it feel good every time, causing more harm to the skin.

CHANGING MASTURBATION HABITS

This took a lot of time before I found out how to correctly masturbate because I didn't know what the problem was. So at first I thought that only by pulling forwards with my hand (so that the foreskin covers the head) and letting loose so the foreskin uncovers the head on its own would be enough. That didn't work out, because I was still applying too much pressure.

I read that for a desensitized penis, not masturbating for a week would make it sensitive again to little stimulation. So I come up with the idea of masturbating by not applying any pressure at all. I don't close my hand around the penis, and I barely touch it. It took some time to make a habit of it, but I could see the effects immediately, the skin wouldn't become swollen anymore.

Nonetheless, this took months, I don't know how many. It's hard changing something you are used to do in a certain way. I guess it's like learning how to write with the opposite hand.

MY STRETCHING JOURNEY, ROUTINE & ADJUSTMENTS

After changing my masturbation habits, I decided to give stretching a try before consulting a doctor.

DAY 1: The first couple of weeks were only for testing: how much stretching I could handle, how much force to apply, where to apply it, how the skin reacted through the days, etc.

DAY 14: After that, I decided my stretching routine: 2 minutes 30 seconds, 4 times with resting time in between, once a day after shower. The resting times were also approximately 2'30" each. I was precise with the stretching time, but not so much with the resting time. I held this routine for 1 and 1/2 months, and I could start seeing some results, but only a little bit, so I decided to change it.

DAY 60: I changed it to 5' of stretching and 5'-10' of resting in between, 4 times, once a day. The foreskin could resist it, but my fingers become numb by the last minutes. After one month with this routine, I started seeing real results. I started feeling motivated, which was a great mental change. Under certain positions, I could retract my foreskin almost completely if I forced it carefully and slowly.

DAY 90: Another month in, it was easier to retract my foreskin, but still not there yet, because there's still some resistance. Finding the phimotic band with my fingers became harder, since it kind of got to the point where the rest of the foreskin is. By this point I already consider it a success. When I masturbate, it's easier to do it if I stretch beforehand. I continue stretching the same way, but find the progress slows down, maybe it's because with every day that passes, I find it harder to find the phimotic band, and I don't really know if I'm actually stretching it. Nonetheless, there is progress.

DAY 120: This was the result. I heard that once you are done, you should keep stretching for at least 4 weeks to avoid it from shrinking, and after only by masturbating you will be able to maintain it. So that's what I'll do, maybe I keep stretching even more time, just in case. And I'll stretch the entire foreskin, and not only where the phimotic band was. Here is the before & after:

To sum it up, this is how much time the stretching took:

  • 15 days for testing
  • 45 days of not stretching enough.
  • 60 days doing it right.

HOW I DID THE STRETCHING & TIPS I LEARNED

  • I didn't use any cream or oil. I always stretched after the shower to have moisturized and relaxed skin. There were some times when I did it before shower, so I gently massaged the foreskin to get it to relax.
  • I used the 2 fingers stretching (they always fitted in), holding still all the time, and not letting loose
  • I didn't stretch the whole foreskin with the falange of my fingers, only used the tip of the fingers to stretch the phimotic band.
  • When stretching, you should feel tension, but it must not painful. How much is something you have to try and find out yourself. It also shouldn’t ache after stretching sessions.
  • You have to be constant and do it daily, but also let the skin rest occasionally. For me, there was usually one day a week in which I wouldn't stretch, or do it for half the time, just to avoid soreness. If the skin becomes sore, then let it rest the necessary days for it to heal (this didn't happen to me at all, if it continues happening to you, then you are doing something wrong).
  • Don't try to rush it at first, use the first few weeks as a test to learn how to do it, don't expect the results to come during that time.
  • It takes compromise to do it every day; you have to think of it as a routine, just like brushing your teeth or showering. You won't be motivated to do it; you just have to do it. Motivation comes when you start seeing the first results, and it has a positive effect on your mind; when it comes, you will want to keep going.
  • It may sound like it takes a lot of time, but time flies by. It's years of phimosis fixed by a few months only.
